According to its earning reports, it’s among the world’s top publishers on PlayStation4 and Xbox Consoles. For the first quarter of 2015, the company reported strong revenues. For instance, recording a five over five-year jump, it’s General Accepted Accounting Principles moved to $1.185 while the non-GAAP net revenue was at $896 above its guidance of $830. With a market capitalization of $19.62, its stock is currently listed on the NASDAQ.

NetEase Inc

As a prominent Chinese Internet Technology company, NetEase, Inc. operates across two major segments namely the advertising services and the online gaming services. Its online gaming segment mainly focuses on multiplayer games that are specific to the Chinese market together with the casual games, Web-based games, and service. For the quarter ending March 2015, it reported a total revenue of RMB 3.89 billion compared to $3.68 in the previous year. Its revenue from the online gaming was RMB 3.10 billion. More so, it posted a gross profit of 2.49 billion. Founded in 1997, this company was initially known as, Inc. but changed its name in 2012. With a market capitalization of $ 18.41 billion, it’s currently it listed on the NYSE

King Digital Entertainment, plc

Although it started publishing and developing online games in 2003, the King Digital Entertainment is now one of the premier interactive entertainment companies. Based in Sweden, it operates offices in Shanghai, San Francisco, Seoul, Malta, and Tokyo and studios in places such as Singapore, Bucharest, Stockholm, Malmo, Barcelona, Berlin, and London. Some of its entertainments are Bubble Witch Saga, Candy Crush Saga, and Candy Crush Soda Saga. The company’s CEO said that these were among the top 10 grossing games in the Apple-Google Play Store. For the first quarter of 2015, King Digital Entertainment reported a revenue per GAAP of $570 with a profit of $165. During the first quarter of 2015, it started a share repurchase program. This led it to repurchasing 7.396 million shares for $111 million in an open market. With a market capitalization of $4.72, it’s currently listed on NYSE.

International Game Technology, plc

When it comes to end to end gaming, this is a global leader with headquarters at the United Kingdom and operating offices in Italy, Rome, Las Vegas, and Rhode Island. In April 2015, its UK subsidiary entered into a cross-border merger with GTECH which is a leader in the global lottery business. Although they merged together they maintained the company’s name while adopting the GTECH visual identity. In the latest report, the International Game Technology earnings were reported in US dollars under the US GAAP while the GTECH earnings were reported in Euros. However starting from the second quarter of 2015 it will report as a combined entity.


Having prospect for good growth in the coming years, the online gaming industry is currently booming. The increasing number of the mobile and internet users plus the technological developments means that there will be an increasing number of customers in the coming years.
